DEUS FALA! SAIBA QUE...

Letter to my love

Who gave credit to our preaching? And to whom was the arm of the Lord revealed? For he grew up before him like a shoot, and like a root out of dry ground; she had neither appearance nor beauty; and when we looked at it, we saw no beauty, that we should desire it. He was despised and the most unworthy of men, a man of sorrows, experienced in toils, and as one from whom men hid their faces, he was despised, and we took no notice of him. Truly, he took our infirmities and our pains; and we count him afflicted, smitten by God, and oppressed. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement that brought us peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed. We all go astray like sheep; each one turned aside to his way, but the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, but he did not open his mouth; like a lamb he was led to the slaughter, and like a sheep before her shearers, he did not open his mouth. From oppression and judgment he was taken; and who will count the time of his life? Because he was cut off from the land of the living, and for the transgression of my people he was struck down. And they made his grave with the wicked and with the rich, in his death; for he never did wrong, nor was there any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him, making him sick; when his soul shall be made an atonement for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the good pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. His soul work he will see and be satisfied; with the knowledge of him my righteous servant will justify many, for he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion of many, and he will divide the spoil with the mighty; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; but he bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

But I do not want you, brethren, to be ignorant of those who are asleep, lest you grieve, as do the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those who sleep in Jesus will God bring back with him. This therefore we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and those who died in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words.

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be. Even you know where I am going and you know the way. Thomas said to him: Sir, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he is the one who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.

Come now, you who say: Today or tomorrow, we will go to such a city, and we will spend a year there, and we will hire, and we will win. I tell you that you do not know what will happen tomorrow. Why is your life? It is a vapor that appears for a little while and then disappears. Instead of what you should say: If the Lord wills, and if we live, we will do this or that. But now you glory in your presumptions; all glory such as this is evil. He, therefore, who knows how to do good and does not do it, commits sin.

Finally he appeared to the eleven as they were sitting together, and he cast their unbelief and hardness of heart into their faces, because they had not believed those who had seen him after he was risen. And he said to them: Go into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; and they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

Now the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with the signs that followed. Amen!

But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

I have told you this, that in me you may have peace; in the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I beat the world.

For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore ye, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

Why then sayest thou, O Jacob, and thou speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment passeth by my God? Do you not know, have you not heard that the eternal God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither grows weary nor weary? There is no searching of your understanding. It gives vigor to the weary and multiplies the strength to the one who has no strength. The youth will tire and weary, and the youth will surely fall. But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength and will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not be weary.

And it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, Moses my servant is dead; Now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to the children of Israel. Every place where the sole of your foot treads I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the desert and from this Lebanon to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites and to the great sea towards the setting of the sun shall be your border. No one will stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for you will make this people inherit the land that I swore to their fathers I would give them. Only strive and be of good courage to be careful to do according to all the law which my servant Moses commanded you; Do not turn aside from it, either to the right or to the left, so that you may go wisely wherever you go. Let not the book of this Law depart from your mouth; but meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt conduct thyself wisely. Did I not send you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be dismayed or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Let him who has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the churches: To him who overcomes, I will give to eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Let him who has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Yours sincerely:
